Sophomore Superstars Package

The Sophomore Superstars Package is our most comprehensive package covering all topics in the Sophomore Superstars, the Junior Jump Package and the Senior Sprint Package. It is designed for the student who is ready to fully commit to a three year comprehensive plan for attaining his/her goals regarding higher education. It will cover all areas related to college application process, including guidance on SAT/ACT prep and tutoring on CORE subjects; analysis of classes and impact on GPA; college essays; review of potential scholarship opportunities; and a variety of other essential college preparation topics.

The Sophomore Superstars Package recognizes that students vary widely in their needs. Therefore the following breakdown of services is merely illustrative. This package provides 50 cumulative hours, over the course of three years, of guidance and assistance to be determined by the specific needs as articulated by the student and parents.

The following is a proposed breakdown of the discussion and planning necessary to provide a workable map for the student:

  1. Initial Intake Interview;

  2. September meeting: evaluation of current status on academics and setting targets (with grades and clubs) and discussion on PSATs and SATs;

  3. October/November meeting: compiling an interest inventory to help determine the student’s top three career paths, interests, potential majors: setting key goals during holiday breaks;

    January meeting: review and strategically plan course selection for junior and senior years (Honors, AP or IBCP or IBDP);

  4. March meeting: college searches based upon expressed interests and student’s personality (size, setting, potential majors); organizing and implementing virtual tours: narrowing selection down to 9 colleges (top-tier/reach; mid-range and safety);

  5. April/May meeting: sophomores are entering a crucial summer and specific goals for summer need to be set in order to maximize and leverage the potential of each student (academic, athletic, employment, travel, community/volunteer work) so that the student has appropriate out of school activities/involvement. Meeting will also address potential summer studying and practice tests of PSATs and SATs, as well as strategic timing of taking those exams;

    Monthly check in meetings (8 meetings sophomore year; 8 meetings junior year; 4 meetings senior year) to check targets, goals and grades. These meetings are designed as check-ins only and will last 15 minutes unless specifically altered by the student or parent;

  6. Guidance for developing a proper college resume;

  7. A timetable for deadlines;

  8. Preview of college applications;

  9. Brainstorm and support the entire college essay writing process, which includes: Common Application Base Personal Statement,Development of essays, which will go through a creative brainstorming process, timelines, and multiple draft revisions.

  10. Ensure all application questions are answered and prepared;

  11. Strategic guidance about Early Decision / Early Action;

  12. Interview preparation and tips;

  13. Follow up with acceptance letter decisions.

The Introductory Rate for the Sophomore Superstars package is $5,000.

**Students participating in our Freshman Fundamentals Package will receive a $250 reduced rate for this package.
